Harry Colley was working as a cook at Dublin’s iconic Fumbally Café when he had a craving that would change everything. “I wanted something punchy to go on toast. Something with a bit of sweetness, salt, and a good kick of spice,” Harry recalls. Drawing inspiration from satay sauces and groundnut stews, he created what would become his signature creation.
The café customers went “bananas” over this mad, addictive spread. Soon people were asking where they could buy jars to take home, so Harry started hand-making them for local markets. What began as “a bit of craic” for fun and pocket money transformed during the pandemic when markets closed and Harry pivoted to wholesale.
Today, this small but “deadly team” of food nerds, cooks, and creatives exports their bold nut butters across Ireland, the UK, and throughout Europe, with their products even reaching stores in the United States. All from one spicy toast idea.
